How mobile detailing works when we come to your driveway

The idea behind mobile detailing is simple. Instead of you driving to a shop, waiting in a lobby, and driving home, the detailer comes to wherever the car already is. For a lot of people in Cullman County that's the driveway at home or the lot at work. If you've never booked one, you probably have a few practical questions. Here's how it works at Bet's Mobile Carwash, and what you can do to make the visit go well.

What happens when we show up

You book a service, either online or by calling or texting 256-297-3370, and choose a package and a vehicle size. On the day, the BMC crew arrives at your appointed location in a detailing unit with the tools and supplies for the job. Most services are completed right there on site, so there's no drop-off and no ride to arrange.

You're free to go about your day while the crew works. Just make sure the crew can get to the vehicle, and keep your phone handy in case a question comes up.

Water and power are covered

People often ask whether they need to provide a hose or an outlet. They don't. BMC's detailing units carry their own water and power supply, so a detail can be completed anywhere. The crew will use your water and power when they're available, which is something you agree to when you book. If you don't have an outdoor spigot, it isn't a problem.

That also means a driveway, an office lot, or a job site can all work, as long as you have permission to have the work done there.

Where to park, and when we arrive

Pick a spot that gives the crew room to work around the whole vehicle. Leave space to open every door fully and to walk around the car. Level ground is better than a slope, and a shaded spot is a nice bonus, because soap and wax behave better out of direct heat. If your driveway is tight, pulling forward or parking where it's allowed gives the crew more room.

Make sure the crew can get inside the vehicle, especially if you booked interior work. If there's a gate, let the crew know how to get through it.

Detailing doesn't run on an exact clock, because every vehicle is different. BMC's terms ask customers to allow up to 30 minutes after the scheduled time for the crew to arrive. Plan around that and you won't spend the morning watching the street. If you need to be somewhere at a certain time, mention it when you book.

Clear out your valuables

Before the crew arrives, take out anything you'd hate to lose. BMC's terms say customers should clear valuables from the vehicle, and that BMC isn't responsible for lost items. That includes wallets, sunglasses, loose cash, electronics, and paperwork. It helps the work too. The less clutter in the cabin, the easier it is to vacuum properly.

  • Remove valuables, electronics, and loose cash.
  • Pull out trash and personal items so the interior can be vacuumed properly.
  • Park where the crew can reach every door.
  • Know where your outdoor water spigot and outlet are, if you have them.
  • Mention problem areas, like a spill or pet hair, when you book.
  • Keep your phone nearby in case the crew needs to reach you.

If the weather turns

Alabama weather can change quickly, and rain can make exterior work impractical. BMC's terms say that when the weather is bad, you'll get same-day notice to modify the service, change the time, or reschedule. It's about getting the work done right instead of rushing it in a downpour. VIP Club members get priority rescheduling when bad weather cancels a visit.

How long it takes

Completion times are estimates. On BMC's booking menu, a Premier Detail interior and exterior for a sedan starts at $160 and is listed at about two hours. An Ultimate Detail for a sedan starts at $240 and is listed at about three. Larger vehicles take longer. A pickup with a messy bed or a minivan with a season's worth of crumbs can run past the estimate, so treat the times as a guide, not a promise.

One more note on pricing. BMC's terms say prices are subject to change on site after the vehicle is inspected, since extra labor may be needed for heavy soiling. Asking about any problem areas ahead of time keeps everyone on the same page.
